What you’ll do 

We’re seeking a driven Business Controller, to focus on supporting our Procurement function and join our team, responsible for the financial management and analysis of procurement activities. Reporting directly to the Business Controller North-West Europe, you’ll collaborate with the North-West Europe finance team, our Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Procurement Director, and Nutreco Global Procurement. In this role, you’ll provide key insights, accurate reporting, and critical budget support to drive procurement decisions.

You will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence within Nutreco Procurement by preparing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. You’ll lead variance analysis on budgets versus actuals, uncovering opportunities and mitigating risks, while ensuring data integrity through meticulous reconciliations. Your expertise in costing, pricing, and foreign exchange analysis will support strategic decisions, complemented by insightful reporting using financial systems and Power BI.

You will partner with procurement teams to implement cost-saving initiatives, optimize vendor and contract spend, and monitor compliance with budgetary controls.

For this position, we are looking for a driven and eager professional who is ready to work with diverse stakeholders and add value through robust financial analysis, cost optimization, and improvements.

You can see this role as 50/50, with a focus on financial administrative tasks and finance/accounting setup improvements. So if you're someone whose used to a flexible and dynamic operation, this role will be for you!

You’ll also need: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

• 6-8 years of experience in Finance control, Finance shared services, Finance analysis or Business Control role in a fast-paced, global business environment.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP or IFRS), financial analysis, and financial reporting.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial management software, and ERP systems (Unite4Cloud, Power BI, OneStream).

• Fluency in English and effectively communicating and networking with business and stakeholders (Dutch is also strongly preferred).

• Soft skills like analytical strength, collaboration, adaptability, good communication an energetic proactive approach to problem solving.
